Subject: Oneida County AIS Presents A Night at the Movies
Good Friday Afternoon,
Are you looking for a
special way to celebrate Earth Week (April 17-21) and Earth Day (April
22)? If so, bring the entire family to the movies to see the
spectacular documentary “Making Waves: Battle for the Great Lakes” on the big
screen.
You can see it on Wednesday,
April 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts in Three
Lakes, WI. It is FREE to the public. Seating is still
available and an RSVP is encouraged. Call Oneida County Land & Water at
715-369-7835 to reserve your seat.
This two-hour documentary
about aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes, will take viewers below the
surface of the world’s largest freshwater ecosystem and into the middle of a
complex war for survival. Narrated by Bill Kurtis, “Making Waves” traces the
path of the invasion and joins researchers on the front lines as they combat
invasive species and work to restore native species, in an effort to prevent a
biological takeover of the Great Lakes. This documentary includes our own AIS
Coordinator, Stephanie Boismenue and County Conservationist, Michele Sadauskas
as they highlight “local” AIS issues throughout Oneida County. To view a trailer
of Making Waves, visit www.makingwavesdocumentary.com
This special presentation of
“Making Waves” is provided by Oneida County and Vilas County Land and Water
Conservation Departments.
Have a great weekend,
Steph
